"Guangming Brand" cold drink was born in 1950, and was founded by Yimin Food Factory No.1 (full name of East China Industrial Company Yimin Food Factory, renamed as Shanghai Yimin Food Factory No.1 from 1953).
Yimin No.1 Food Factory, formerly known as Haining Foreign Firm, was established in 19 13. It used to be an egg processing factory. 1932, the factory imported cold drink production equipment from the United States, built a four-story reinforced concrete cold drink production workshop, and began to produce cold drink products with various flavors such as popsicles, ice cream and ice cubes, especially the "Beauty" brand.

Shanghai Yimin Food Factory No.1 Co., Ltd., formerly known as Haining Foreign Company, was established in the American company of 19 13. During the war of liberation, it was renamed the First Grain Factory, also known as Shanghai Grain Service Experimental Factory. After the national liberation, under the leadership and organization of the East China Industry Department of the East China Military and Political Commission, it was renamed Shanghai Yimin Food Factory No.1..
At the initiative of the military representatives stationed in the factory, party member and the underground of the former factory, the brand of China cold drinks-Guangming brand, formerly known as "Beauty Brand", was created. Its source is the lyrics of a revolutionary song at that time, "Towards Light, Towards Victory". "Guangming Brand" not only created the national brand of cold drinks in China, but also created a new era of "bright" food industry.
