What information do you need to provide when applying for UL certification for batteries in the United States?

Applying for UL mark for products includes five steps (you can also apply for European certification according to similar steps), and you can apply abroad for quick and direct help.

1. The applicant submits relevant company and product information.

1 written application: You should ask UL Company to conduct a written test on your products.

2 company information:

Please provide the detailed and accurate name, address, contact person, postal code, telephone number and fax number of the applicant company, listed company and production factory.

Applicant company: the company that applies for product testing and is responsible for all expenses.

Listed companies: companies whose names are listed in various product catalogues published by UL Company.

Factory: the manufacturer and producer of products.

3 product information:

Please provide product structure, components, materials, performance and other information, so that we can judge the required tests, UL standards, engineering service fees, test time, etc. Please note that product information should be provided in English:

A. Product name

B. product model

C. Expected use of the product: Please tell us how and where to use your product. For example: home, outdoor office, factory, coal mine, ship, etc.

D list of parts (see page 4 of materials): please provide the model, grade and manufacturer name of the product parts. If the part has obtained UL certification, please indicate the UL document number of the part. We encourage customers to use UL marked components as much as possible to shorten the experiment time and reduce the engineering cost.

E electrical performance: for electronic and electrical products, please provide the electrical schematic diagram (circuit diagram), rated voltage, current, frequency and power.

F. Structural drawing: For most products, we need structural drawing, explosion drawing, parts list, etc. Please indicate the name and size of each part in the drawing so as to correspond to the parts list or parts list one by one.

Photos of the product, instructions for use, safety matters or installation instructions, etc.

2.UL Company makes a decision based on the product information provided.

When the product information is complete, UL engineer will make the following decisions based on this information: UL standard on which the test is based, engineering cost of the test, test time and sample requirements, etc. , and notify you in writing, and send the formal service agreement and proforma invoice to your company. The service agreement integrates the application form and the tracking service agreement, and is valid for life once signed.

Apply for company remittance, send back service agreement and samples.

The applicant signs the service agreement and returns the form to UL. At the same time, send samples by bank remittance, post office or express mail (door-to-door service). Please give an appropriate description (such as name, model, etc.). ) samples for inspection. Please send the service agreement and samples separately (including parts that are easily damaged during testing). For each applied project, UL will assign a unique project number (project number). Please indicate the project number and the name of the company applying for remittance, sample and service agreement for UL to check.

Fourth, product testing.

After receiving the service agreement, remittance and experimental samples signed by your company, UL will inform you of the completion time of the experimental plan. Product testing is generally carried out in UL's laboratory, and some products can also be witnessed in China Laboratory, an audited third-party test data exchange project. The experimental samples will be returned or destroyed according to your requirements.

If the product test results meet the requirements of UL standards, UL will issue qualified test reports and follow-up service procedures. Tracking service details include product description and inspection instructions of UL regional inspectors. A copy of the test report will be sent to the applicant company, and a copy of the tracking service details will be sent to each production plant.

If the product test results cannot meet the requirements of UL standard, UL will notify the applicant to explain the existing problems. After the applicant improves the product design, he can resubmit the product, and resubmit it to tell the UL engineer what improvements have been made in the product, so that he can decide what tests need to be carried out. Generally speaking, it is not necessary to repeat all the tests to reduce the cost.

Verb (abbreviation of verb) The applicant is authorized to use the UL trademark.

The UL regional inspector in China contacted the production plant for the first factory inspection (IPI). Inspectors check the storage of products and their parts in the production line and warehouse to confirm whether the product structure and parts meet the detailed rules of tracking service. If required by the detailed rules, the regional inspector will conduct witness experiments. When the inspection results meet the requirements, the applicant is authorized to use the UL mark.

After IPI, inspectors will visit the factory from time to time, check the product structure and witness the experiment. The inspection frequency is determined by the product type and output, and most types of products are inspected at least four times a year (the cost of tracking service is not included in the inspection fee). The inspector's inspection is to ensure that the products continue to meet the requirements of UL. Please inform UL in advance before you plan to change the product structure or parts. For minor changes, there is no need to repeat any experiments, and UL can quickly modify the details of the tracking service so that inspectors can accept this change. When UL thinks that the change of the product affects its safety performance, it needs to apply for the company to resubmit the sample for necessary testing.
