Join the self-research army! Vivo's first self-developed chip exposure: code name "Yue Ying"

In the past two years, with the continuous development of domestic high-tech industry, domestic mobile phone manufacturers have begun to develop their own chips. Previously, many mobile phone manufacturers have been exposed to open their own research chip plans.

According to today's latest report, vivo will also join the army of self-developed chips. The first chip is very close to mass production and will be listed soon. The internal code is "Yue Ying", and the next generation flagship vivo X70 series may be launched.

However, according to the known news, the first chip of vivo is not an integrated SoC chip, but a chip specially used to improve the image capability. Similar to ISP chip, it can improve the performance of image processor speed and image quality, which is also one of the most important functions of mobile phone products at present.

In fact, as early as May last year, some netizens exposed two chip trademarks applied by vivo, namely "vivo SOC" and "vivo chip", and the application dates of these two trademarks were 2065438+September 2009 respectively, which means that vivo started the planning of self-developed chips as early as 20 19.

It is reported that in the application information of these two trademarks at that time, the product categories covered include a series of processor-related products such as central processing units, modems, computer chips, printed circuits and computer storage devices.

However, at that time, Hu Baishan, executive vice president of vivo, denied the self-developed chip. He said that vivo began to think about deeply participating in chip SoC design more than a year ago, and vivo launched a large number of plans to recruit chip talents, and also proposed to establish a chip team of 300-500 people in the future.

However, Hu Baishan revealed that this team is not a pure chip research and development team, but only participates in the definition of chips by upstream manufacturers to make products better presented.

Now, vivo has quietly built the first self-developed chip, which seems to represent the confidence of vivo in its own technological development, and looks forward to the performance of "Yue Ying" after its final listing.
