Recently, Li Zaiyong, Vice Chairman of Samsung Electronics, met with Vietnamese Prime Minister Ruan Fuzhong in Vietnam on 10/20, and discussed how to increase investment in battery and smart phone manufacturers. At present, Samsung SDI does not have an electric vehicle battery production line in Vietnam, although there are mobile phone batteries assembled and supplied to Samsung Electronics (Samsung? Electronic? Vietnam) production line.
Previously, Samsung SDI began to expand its battery manufacturing plant in Hungary, doubling the number of battery production lines to eight. After the expansion is completed, Samsung SDI can make the battery capacity of electric vehicles reach 20GWh only in Hungary, which is close to the total battery output of Samsung SDI last year.
Editor's comment:
As the fourth largest battery supplier for electric vehicles in the world, Samsung SDI needs to build another battery factory for electric vehicles to increase its market share. At present, the newly expanded battery factory in Hungary is obviously not enough. In addition, it is reported that in order to improve the energy density of the battery, Samsung SDI will begin to apply NCA (lithium nickel cobalt aluminum oxide) cathode material in Hungary. Previously, NCA was mainly supplied by Panasonic and Tesla. It is speculated that batteries made of NMC and NCA materials will be provided. (Source: businesskorea;; Compile/car home? Jiang Che)
