Shanghai Secco Petrochemical Co., Ltd. was established by China Petrochemical Co., Ltd., China Petrochemical Shanghai Petrochemical Co., Ltd. and BP Huadong Investment Co., Ltd. in the proportion of 30%, 20% and 50% respectively, with a total investment of about 2.7 billion US dollars. This is one of the largest Sino-foreign joint venture petrochemical projects in China. It was put into commercial operation in June 2005.
