1981June, Guangdong Provincial Highway Construction Company and Hong Kong Hehe China Development Co., Ltd. signed a letter of intent to cooperate in the construction of Humen Bridge Expressway.
1991may, Humen automobile ferry was completed and put into operation, and soon the problem of insufficient capacity appeared. The Guangdong provincial government immediately promoted the Humen Bridge project.
1In the spring of 1992, the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee and the provincial government decided to separate the Humen Bridge project from the cooperation contract of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Zhuhai Expressway project organized and implemented by the Provincial Communications Department and jointly built by China and foreign countries. On May 27th of the same year, the foundation stone laying ceremony of Humen Bridge was held. In the same year1October 28th, 10, Humen Bridge started.

From 22: 00 on June 20 19/from 20: 00 on June 9 to 8: 00 the next morning, Humen Bridge will start a "physical examination" to make it better serve the economic development on both sides of the Pearl River. The east approach bridge of Humen Bridge will be subjected to a two-day load test. During the load test, the eastbound direction of Humen Bridge (towards Dongguan and Shenzhen) will be completely closed for traffic control.
