The new factory will officially lay the foundation stone at the end of February, 20021,and it is planned to put into mass production in the second half of 2022.

Hyundai Motor Group became the first global automobile manufacturer to establish a hydrogen fuel cell system production base in China, which is also the first overseas hydrogen fuel cell production base established by Hyundai Motor Group in the world. Hyundai Motor will take this as a starting point, and with its strong technical advantages and leading position in the global hydrogen fuel field, it will help the rapid development of the hydrogen fuel cell market in China.

The new manager is controlled by Hyundai Motor Group 100%. The new plant will be formally laid at the end of February 20021,and it is planned to be put into mass production in the second half of 2022, with an initial planned annual production capacity of 6,500 units. The factory will mainly produce the hydrogen fuel cell system installed on the modern hydrogen fuel cell vehicle NEXO, and its supply capacity will continue to expand according to China's policies and market conditions.

Hyundai Motor Group will take this production base as a starting point to carry out all-round business related to hydrogen fuel cell system on a global scale. It is planned to increase the annual production capacity of hydrogen fuel cell system to 700,000 units by 2030.

According to the development plan of new energy automobile industry in China (202 1-2035), hydrogen fuel cell vehicles will be commercialized by 2035. At the same time, in the "Technology Roadmap 2.0 for Energy-saving and New Energy Vehicles" issued by China Automotive Engineering Society, it is proposed that by 2035, the market share of new energy vehicles will exceed 50%, and the number of fuel cell vehicles will reach about 6.5438+0 million.

With the gradual maturity of China's hydrogen fuel cell market and the acceleration of market-oriented reform, Hyundai Motor will establish a large-scale production system in China and cooperate with its partners in China. The newly established company is not only responsible for the production and sales of hydrogen fuel cell stacks and systems, but also will actively participate in upstream and downstream industries such as hydrogen production and storage, and lay out hydrogen energy industrial chains such as hydrogen fuel cell boats, trams and generators in Guangdong Province, making contributions to the environmental protection industry and economic development in China.
