Beibei is rich in history and culture. There are the former residences of Lao She, Tao Xingzhi, Yan and other historical celebrities, the famous anti-Japanese general Zhang Zizhong Martyrs Cemetery, Fudan University, the former site of Jinyun Mountain Sino-Tibetan Education College and other cultural landscapes, and 100 capital sites. Beibei was the relocation area of Chongqing, the capital of Chongqing during the Anti-Japanese War. In the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China, it was the seat of the East Sichuan Administrative Office and was called the "Chongqing Capital".
Beibei has a solid economic foundation. It owns more than 7 billion yuan of state-owned industrial enterprises' stock assets and has a complete range of industries. It is one of the three major instrument bases and five major glass bases in China. Beibei is rich in tourism resources. There are national nature reserves, Jinyun Mountain, northern hot springs and the famous Jindaoxia Scenic Area. There are two national AAAA scenic spots, one national AAA scenic spot and one national AA scenic spot. Jiu Feng, a tourist resort in Jinyun Mountain, is a well-preserved green treasure house in the Yangtze River basin. North Hot Spring Park has a strange water temperature and is antique.
