Ask your agent the name of their local company or partner abroad, who is the contact person and what is the email number. Then inform your shipper of this information, saying that this company and this person are your designated import agents. Contact them and arrange delivery. Or the agent will contact him to arrange delivery.
2. Determine with your consignor which part of the sea (air) freight, port miscellaneous fees and taxes you both bear and how to pay. And inform your agent before booking. Negotiate how you and your agent settle the bill.
Make sure your consignor has the right to export locally. Make sure you have import rights in China. If not, please ask your agent to help you find a window agent.
4. Determine the name and packaging of the goods, whether there are special circumstances or dangerous goods, tell your agent to help you see what you need to pay attention to, or whether there are special supervision conditions for importing into China Customs. If there is, you should handle it in advance, and don't wait until you arrive in Hong Kong to find out. If you do it again, it will delay the time, resulting in late payment of newspapers and late payment of containers. If you can't do it, if you can't clear it, it will be even more troublesome.
Determine the date when the goods can leave the factory, inform your agent, and let their agent negotiate with your overseas consignor to arrange a suitable delivery date and get your consent.
6. Have the shipper prepare the packing list, proforma invoice and contract. If there are special documents, such as certificate of origin, etc. If necessary, have the shipper prepare and send the original to you. All original documents must reach you at least 1 week before the goods arrive in Hong Kong. If there is something wrong with the document, you still have time to revise it.
7. After the goods sail, keep an eye on your agent and inform the real sailing time, date and expected arrival date in Hong Kong in time. Keep an eye on your agent and give you the bill of lading according to the exchange method you communicated in advance.
8. After receiving the original documents from abroad, they will be handed over to your agent in China as soon as possible (if you entrust them to handle import customs clearance). And provide them with the original documents such as declaration power of attorney and inspection power of attorney.
9. Other import matters will be handled by your agent. Just waiting for payment and receipt.
10. Payment of foreign exchange: settlement of foreign exchange with foreign clients. If it is a letter of credit, it conforms to the terms of the letter of credit.
In the case of wire transfer, 30% is usually paid in advance. After you see the copy of the bill of lading, check the information of the bill of lading on the shipping company official website to see if there is any information about the cargo boarding. And let your agent issue a statement (seal) to ensure that the goods have been shipped. 70% of the foreign balance will be paid after the goods are actually loaded.
To settle the expenses with your agent, just talk about the exchange method before booking. Generally speaking, as long as you fulfill it on time, the agent will generally release the bill according to the rules. I won't embarrass you.
1 1. I have a suggestion: I suggest that your agent apply for the port of destination 14 days free time when booking the space. That is, after being imported into China, there is a free time of 14 days to show the description of the goods in the bill of lading. In this way, after the goods arrive in Hong Kong, there will be enough time to prepare for import clearance. Avoid container delay costs caused by unexpected delays. The demurrage fee is still quite high.
