The main bridge structure of Wuhan Zhuankou Yangtze River Highway Bridge is a steel box girder cable-stayed bridge with five spans and one connection, two towers and two cable planes, with a main span of 760m m. The whole line is built according to the standard of eight-lane expressway, the design speed is 100km/h, the standard of first-class highway, and the bridge width is 46m, which is the widest bridge on the Yangtze River.
The Zhuankou Yangtze River Highway Bridge project was undertaken by the consortium of China Communications Investment Company, a subsidiary of China Communications Construction Group, with a total length of 8.583 kilometers. Among them, the Yangtze River Bridge is 5.296 kilometers long and the cross-strait wiring is 3.287 kilometers long.

On April 23, 20 14, the design scheme of Wuhan Zhuankou Yangtze River Highway Bridge was approved by the Ministry of Transport, and entered the construction drawing design and land use approval procedures. Construction is expected to officially start in September this year.
The bridge is located between Baishazhou Yangtze River Bridge and Junshan Yangtze River Bridge, starting from Xujiabao, Dunkou, Hanyang, Jiangbei, connecting with Han Hong (Lake) Expressway in Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone, ending at Gongjiapu, Jiangxia District, Jiangbei, and connecting with the south section of Wuhan Fourth Ring Road and Qingzheng Expressway which has been opened to traffic. It is reported that as a part of the Fourth Ring Road in Wuhan, after the completion of the bridge, it will be charged according to the highway toll standard in Hubei Province.
