How many central enterprises are there in China?

There are 97 central enterprises in China. The latest list of central enterprises in 2020 was announced. Official website, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, shows that by June 2020, there were 97 central enterprises in China. This year, a company named Nokia Bell was removed from the list of central enterprises and a new central enterprise inspection team was added.

Classification of central enterprises

In a broad sense, the central enterprises mentioned above belong to the central enterprises in a narrow sense. Central enterprises in a broad sense also include financial central enterprises, cultural central enterprises and administrative central enterprises.

Financial central enterprises, at present, there are 23 financial central enterprises in China, which are not managed by SASAC, but by the Ministry of Finance and Central Huijin Company, and also belong to central enterprises.

Mainly involved in banking, insurance, asset management and other fields, mainly including four state-owned banks, four asset management companies, three insurance companies, China Agricultural Development Bank, The Export-Import Bank of China, China Development Bank, Bank of Communications, CITIC Group, China Everbright Group, China Investment Corporation and other 23 enterprises.
