Jiangxi Metallurgical Research Institute was established in 1952, and began to engage in the research of tungsten mining, mineral processing and smelting.

1970-1980 discovered and named the south ion adsorption rare earth mine, and invented the first generation mining technology of south ion mine.

1984 was renamed Ganzhou Institute of Nonferrous Metallurgy.

1989, neodymium was produced by electrolysis with fluoride system for the first time in Jiangxi province.

1989, the state import and export commodity inspection bureau awarded the analysis room of the institute as the quality inspection unit for import and export tungsten concentrates and rare earth products.

1997 "Ganyan" brand trademark of rare earth series products and mining equipment products was officially registered in the State Trademark Office. Rare earth metals can reach 350 tons/year. The institute was recognized as a "high-tech enterprise in Jiangxi Province". The new process of ionic rare earth in-situ leaching won the third prize of 1997 national invention.

1998 Rare Earth Material Factory was put into operation, with a capacity of 650 tons/year, marking the start of large-scale production of rare earth metals in our institute. ?The quality system has passed the certification sponsored by "China Import and Export Commodity Quality Certification Center" and is the first certified enterprise in Jiangxi Province.

65438-0999, the Ministry of Science and Technology approved the Institute as a "national key high-tech enterprise". The production capacity of rare earth metals reaches 800 tons/year.

In 2000, a high-tech industrialization project research group was established.

2001Feb 10, Jiangxi Southern Rare Earth High-tech Co., Ltd. was established. And invested in the establishment of Dingnan South Rare Earth Co., Ltd. and Xunwu South Rare Earth Co., Ltd.

Wan 'an electrolytic furnace was developed in 2002.

In 2003, Wanan electrolytic furnace was put into operation, and the production capacity of rare earth metals reached10.5 million tons/year.

In 2005, the production capacity of rare earth metals reached 2400 tons, and the separation capacity of rare earth reached 5000 tons.

In 2006, the production capacity of rare earth metals reached 2500 tons/year.

In 2008, the production line with an annual output of 3,500 tons of rare earth metals was transformed, and the annual output of rare earth metals could reach 3,500 tons.

In 2009, it passed ISO 14000 environmental protection system and ISO 18000 employee health system certification.
