The traffic outside Yangjiang Port is developed: the first-class highway between Hong Kong and Shu is connected with National Highway 325, coastal expressway in western Guangdong and Kaiyang Expressway, and will be connected with Tongjiang-Sanya Expressway in 2004. Yangjiang Port has complete facilities and advanced functions. According to the economic development in the hinterland, Yangjiang Port will continue to build and expand its scale. The 35,000-ton special grain wharf and the 654.38+0.00-ton multi-purpose wharf berth are under construction (the wharf structure is built at 35,000 tons), with an additional throughput of 4 million tons.
After Yangjiang Port was put into operation, the throughput increased year by year, which fully demonstrated the regional advantages of Yangjiang Port. According to the forecast of economic development in the Mainland, more than 6.4 million tons of goods need to be transshipped through Yangjiang Port. Due to the limited scale and throughput of Yangjiang Port, most of the goods have to be transferred to other ports, so Yangjiang Port urgently needs to expand its scale.
