What famous gardens are there in Hangzhou, Zhejiang?

The most distinctive features are Guo Zhuang (located in Yang Gongdi, where the Lotus Show is now located) and Hu Xueyan's former residence (located in Yuanbao Street next to the Drum Tower, which was once the first mansion in China). )。

Guo Zhuang, commonly known as Songzhuang, was built by Hangzhou silk merchant Song Ruifu in the thirty-third year of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty (1907). During the Republic of China, the Song family declined and was sold to the Guo family in Fenyang, renamed Fenyang Mountain Villa, commonly known as Guo Zhuang. The village covers an area of nearly 10,000 square meters, divided into two quiet scenic spots in the north and south, and a mirror opens to the sky. The manor takes the scenery of the West Lake as an advantage and blends with the landscape of the West Lake, which is known as the "crown of classical gardens in the West Lake". Professor Chen Congzhou, a famous gardener, commented on Guo Zhuang: "The charm reappears, such as re-mounting ancient paintings."

Hu Xueyan Memorial Hall is located in Jixi County. The memorial hall covers an area of nearly 1000 square meters. The memorial hall reproduces the ups and downs of Hu Xueyan in business circles with a large number of pictures, books and objects.

Hu Xueyan was born in Huli Village, Jixi County in 1823 and died in 1885. He was a famous "Red Top Merchant" in Qing Dynasty, and he was also an official and a representative of Huizhou merchants. At the peak of his career, he owned Fukang Qianzhuang, with more than 20 branches all over the country, with a capital of 20 million taels of silver and tens of thousands of acres of land. Hu Xueyan once assisted Zuo, a famous minister of the Qing Dynasty, to set up westernization and industry. During the Tongzhi period of the Qing Dynasty, Hu Xueyan prepared to establish "Huqingyutang" Chinese medicine in Hangzhou, and later developed into two Chinese medicine giants in the north and south, which were tied with "Tongrentang" in Beijing.

Hu Xueyan Memorial Hall is to let people learn from its ups and downs, observe its advantages and disadvantages, let contemporary operators take a warning, and let Huizhou merchants' spirits such as "bullying the city" and "customers are the source of livelihood" carry forward in the socialist market economy. At the same time, the construction of Hu Xueyan Memorial Hall has also added a unique cultural landscape to Jixi.
