CICC today announced the appointment of Dr. Hongliang, head of the research department of CICC, as the chief economist of CICC. Dr. Hong Liang joined CICC in 2008. He has many years of experience in macroeconomic research and has a deep understanding of China and the global capital market.
Dr. Hong Liang graduated from Peking University with a bachelor's degree in international relations, and later received a doctorate in economics from Georgetown University. Prior to joining CICC, Dr. Hongliang worked as Managing Director, Chief China Economist and Head of Asian Economic Research Department at Goldman Sachs from 2003 to 2008. 1998-2003 Worked for the International Monetary Fund as an economist in the Asia-Pacific Department.
