Characteristics of CST- 100 spacecraft

The number 100 in the name of CST- 100 stands for 100 km, that is, the distance from the earth to low-earth orbit, which shows that it specializes in short-distance transportation in space. The shape of this new spacecraft is similar to that of Apollo and Orion spacecraft, but the volume is between their sizes, and it can carry seven astronauts at a time. This spaceship CST- 100, which is like a space capsule, was built by Boeing Company. It has seven seats, four of which are reserved for the crew of the space station. Therefore, the spacecraft can carry three tourists at a time, starting from the Cape Canaveral Space Launch Base in Florida and entering low-earth orbit.

Other innovations of CST- 100 spacecraft include the welding-free design of the whole ship, modern structure and upgraded thermal control technical scheme. Boeing claims that this integrated design reduces the overall weight of the spacecraft and accelerates the manufacturing speed of the cabin.
