Extended data

Hong Kong government and power companies pay more attention to power grid development planning. Kowloon China Electric Power Company has a planning department, and power planning will always be ahead of power grid construction. CLP has 27 people engaged in planning, divided into four groups: power generation, transmission, distribution and power grid stability planning, and has always maintained a rolling development plan for 20 years. The planning department of CLP requires the Urban Development Department of the Hong Kong Government to provide an urban development plan every year, and the power development plan is also included in the urban development plan of the Hong Kong Government.

The two power companies in Hong Kong have chosen advanced equipment and adopted new technologies to keep the power system running at a high level. For example, SF6 totally enclosed combined electrical appliances are widely used, and many of them have not been overhauled since they were used in 1972. Vacuum circuit breakers are widely used in 1 1kV bus side, and rarely overhauled. The distribution station adopts silicone oil transformer and dry-type transformer.
