Qinshan Nuclear Power Phase II Project is the first 600,000 kW PWR nuclear power plant independently designed, built, managed and operated in China after Qinshan Phase I and Daya Bay Nuclear Power Plant were put into operation. Since the unit 1 was started in June, 1996, the main node targets such as dome hoisting, main equipment installation, water pressure test, turbine rotation and core have been successfully completed. On February 28th, 2000 1 year, the reactor1reached the critical level for the first time, marking the end of the project construction. It is expected to be connected to the grid in February 2002 and put into full operation in June. Unit 2 started construction on March 23rd 1997, and completed the dome hoisting on September 24th 199. On February 30th, 200 1, 12, the pressure vessel was hoisted into place, marking the beginning of the peak of installation of main equipment. It is expected that it will be put into full operation in June 2004.
Qinshan Joint Venture Co., Ltd. (also known as Qinshan No.2 Nuclear Power Plant) of CNNC is fully responsible for the construction, operation and management of four 650,000 kW PWR nuclear power units. At present, units 1 and 2 of Qinshan Nuclear Power Phase II Project have been completed and put into operation, and units 3 and 4 are under construction. Qinshan Nuclear Power Phase II Project is the first domestic large-scale commercial nuclear power plant designed, constructed, managed and operated independently in China, which has achieved a great leap from prototype reactor to commercial reactor. The success of 1 and Unit 2 was praised by Premier Wen Jiabao as "stepping out of a road of independent development of nuclear power in China". Qinshan No.2 Nuclear Power Plant is located in Haiyan County, Zhejiang Province, close to the scenic Hangzhou Bay. Founded in 1988, China National Nuclear Corporation, Zhejiang Electric Power Development Corporation, Shenneng, Jiangsu Guo Xin Asset Management Group Co., Ltd., China Power Investment Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. and Anhui Energy Group Co., Ltd. * * * jointly hold shares, implement the general manager responsibility system under the leadership of the board of directors, and establish a standardized, procedural and information-based management system.
