After the Sino-Japanese War in 2 1 year (AD 1895), Taiwan Province Province was ruled by the Japanese, and postal laws and regulations were implemented, and the postal service was gradually transferred from the field post office to the transportation bureau. The Transportation Bureau has a delivery department, which is similar in nature to China's postal administration, and is mainly responsible for postal services, savings, remittance, simple insurance, postal annuity and other services.
Modern Post was established on March 20th (1896) in the 22nd year of Guangxu reign in Qing Dynasty, and was initially run by the Customs. In the third year of Xuantong in Qing Dynasty (A.D. 19 1 1), the postal service broke away from the customs and established the General Post Office. 19 (A.D. 1930), the General Administration of Postal Savings Bank was established. In the 24th year of the Republic of China (A.D. 1935), the Postal Law was promulgated, and the General Postal Savings Bank was subordinate to the General Postal Administration, which also offered simple life insurance business. In 35 years (1946), Taiwan Province Post and Telecommunications Administration was established. In 38 years of the Republic of China (1949), the General Post Office moved from the mainland to Taiwan Province, and established the Postal Administration of Taiwan Province Province. In 69 (A.D. 1980), due to the needs of business development, Taiwan Province Postal Administration was reorganized into three postal administrations in northern, central and southern Taiwan Province Province.
Due to rapid social changes, rapid development of information technology, economic liberalization, internationalization and other factors, the General Post Office completed the revision of the Postal Law in July of 9 1 year (2002) in order to cope with the looting of mail by the private delivery industry in the metropolitan area and the fierce market competition in the financial and life insurance industries, and break through the restrictions of postal operation. 1992 (2003) Chunghwa Post Co., Ltd., a state-owned company with 100% equity held by the Ministry of Communications, was restructured and established. Before the restructuring, the assets and liabilities of the General Post Office were generally borne by the company, and its business was also continued by the company.
1996 (2007) On February 9, the company was renamed as "Taiwan Province Post Co., Ltd." in line with government policies. Because the procedures for amending the four postal laws have not been completed, the renamed company name does not match the legal name. Therefore, on August 1 971day (A.D. 2008), the company resumed its legal name as Chunghwa Post Co., Ltd., and its rights, obligations and business operations were not affected in any way.
