After the Dongjiang water reaches Shenzhen Reservoir, it passes through two water pipes across Shenzhen River, enters the receiving pool of Muhu Lake on the border, and then is transported to Muhu Pumping Station. The first water pipe laid from the border 1960 was installed after the Shenzhen water supply agreement was reached. The diameter of the water pipe is 48 inches and the total length is about ten miles. It starts near Man Kam To, passes through Shek Pak Tau and Fanling, and ends at Tai Lam Chung Diversion Channel, one mile from Shek Kong. 1964 A second water pipe with a diameter of 54 inches was added, starting from Man Kam To, New Territories, passing through Wutonghe Pumping Station to Tai Po Tau Water Tunnel, connecting with Plover Cove Freshwater Lake system. After the water pipe reaches Tai Po Tau from Wutonghe Pumping Station via Sheung Shui and Fanling, it can be injected into Tai Po Tau through the pumping station, and then transported to Sha Tin Water Treatment Plant via Xiachengmen Reservoir Water Tunnel for supply to the urban area. 1989165438+1October, carry out the third phase expansion project, keep the water level of the second phase unchanged, expand Dongjiang, Sima, Matan, Zhutang and Shaling pumping stations and add Tangxia pumping stations to increase the water supply to17.43 million cubic meters, with the maximum water lifting capacity.
1998, the Guangdong provincial government proposed to build a closed pipeline with a total length of 83km from Qiaotou Town in Dongguan to Shenzhen Reservoir to avoid pollution along the drinking water and improve the water quality in a short time. The project is estimated to cost 4.7 billion yuan, of which 2.4 billion yuan will be repaid by the interest-free loan from the Hong Kong government in 20 years. The project started on August 28th, 2000. The first phase of the pipeline project is 50 kilometers long, from Taiyuan in Dongguan to Yantian Reservoir in Shenzhen. The project was officially opened in June 2003.
