CEC, the full name of China Electronic Information Industry Group Co., Ltd.; CETC, the full name of China Electronics Technology Group Co., Ltd., was born out of the Ministry of Electronics Industry established in 1982, merged with the former Ministry of Machinery Industry in 1988, and was abolished in 1998.
1998, after the revocation of the Ministry of Electronic Industry, most research institutes (institutes) under the former Ministry of Electronic Industry established CETC (China Electric Power Department), and the enterprises under the former Ministry of Electronic Industry were placed under CEC (China Electric Power Department). Managers of these two groups often take turns to serve each other. In particular, the research institutes under the former Ministry of Electronic Industry have not all been merged into CETC.
