What is Bo Gu?

Bo Gu is a kind of miscellaneous painting. Later generations put pictures on utensils to form decorative handicrafts, commonly known as "Bo Gu". For example, The Picture of Bo Gu decorated with flowers and fruits is called Flower Bo Gu.

Song Huizong, the Grand View of the Northern Song Dynasty, ordered the minister to compile and draw the ancient artifacts hidden in the Xuanhe Hall into 30 volumes of the Xuanhe Bo Gu Map. Therefore, later generations will draw pictures of ancient artifacts such as porcelain, bronze, jade and stone tools, which are called "Bo Gu Map", and sometimes they will be decorated with flowers and fruits. "Bo Gu Map" has the meaning of learning from the past and advocating elegance. It is often used to decorate the houses of scholarly families or official families, which also makes it occupy a good position in the field of art investment.
