According to insiders, in addition to the Spring Festival, there will soon be an autumn season, and Dongfeng is trying to build a normalized brand activity matrix.

At the press conference, the cause of independent brands was once again emphasized without any suspense.

It is undoubtedly an important and long-term task for this central enterprise to solve the objective situation that there are many independent sectors, but they are not refined.

In mid-2020, Dongfeng held a special seminar internally, and put forward the concept of "Dongfeng independent passenger car business group" for the first time.

According to Zhu Yanfeng's vision, the business units of Dongfeng autonomous passenger cars should focus on commodity, R&D, marketing, service, aftermarket and other fields to accelerate the pace of coordination.

To this end, Dongfeng has re-optimized and formulated three "million" plans: by 2025, the sales of commercial vehicles, autonomous passenger cars and new energy vehicles will reach 6,543,800+respectively, and the scale of independent brands will enter the top 3 in the industry.

In terms of research and development, Dongfeng's investment will increase to 1000 billion yuan during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, in which the investment intensity of independent brands is not less than 6%, keeping the industry leading.

By the end of the 14th Five-Year Plan, Dongfeng will independently control more than 2,000 key core technologies, with a control rate of 95%. At the same time, the intellectual property strategy will be vigorously implemented, and the cumulative number of invention patents will increase by five times, reaching more than 6,000.

It is worth mentioning that Dongfeng has also defined the core members of its own vehicle business for the first time, namely Lan Tu, Dongfeng Shen Feng and high-end electric off-road brands.

Among them, the latter was also exposed in public for the first time. According to the understanding of Automobile Sankei, the high-end electric off-road brand based on the new platform architecture is expected to announce more details during the year, and the official listing will wait until April next year.

As the main force of Dongfeng autonomous passenger cars, Fengshen is positioned as the mainstream technology driving brand, and its annual sales volume should strive to increase to more than 300,000 vehicles during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period.

Set sail on the 14th and 15th, and just after the 13th Five-Year Plan, Dongfeng showed its cards. Dongfeng Company sold a total of19.3 million vehicles, including 6.3 million self-owned brand vehicles and 280,000 new energy vehicles.

The new energy transformation action will accelerate Dongfeng's iterative innovation in new energy core technologies. By 2024, Dongfeng will realize 100% electrification of the main passenger car brand.

In terms of intelligent driving transformation, Dongfeng will accelerate the innovation and application of new technologies. During the Tenth Five-Year Plan period, the large-scale demonstration application of L4 intelligent networked vehicles will be realized, and the key core technologies of L5 intelligent networked vehicles will be mastered.

Another business unit that made its debut has also attracted attention: Dongfeng driverless brand "Infinite Star", whose products will cover L4 and L5 driverless smart cards.
