A new passenger plane called Overture will provide supersonic commercial flight at twice the speed of sound.

Supersonic travel may come back soon!

Boom Supersonic announced that it has invested $65,438 billion in the "Overture" project. Overture "Overture" is a 55-seat supersonic passenger plane, which flies at more than twice the speed of sound and has a range of 5 180 miles.

It can transport passengers from London to new york in 3.5 hours-about half the current time.

New investors in this Colorado-based company include Emerson Collective Company led by laurene powell jobs. Laurene powell jobs is the widow of Steve Jobs, the former CEO of Apple.

Boom founder Blake Scholl said that this new fund will enable us to promote the research and development of Overture, which will be the world's first economically feasible supersonic aircraft.

The "overture" fare will be similar to today's business class fare, broadening the horizons of tens of millions of tourists. Ultimately, the company's goal is to make high-speed flight affordable for everyone.

Boom said that Overture "overture" will adapt to the use of a new generation of alternative fuels, and its carbon footprint is equivalent to that of today's business class travel. It hopes that this new type of aircraft will make supersonic travel cheaper.

According to the company, Overture supersonic aircraft has 55 seats, the cost of one seat mile is similar to that of subsonic business class, and it is very practical on hundreds of transoceanic routes, which makes it a new standard for any business class passenger.

Boom is currently assembling XB- 1, which is a prototype of a Mach 2.2 manned passenger plane with a ratio of 1/3. The XB- 1 will be tested by the chief test pilot Bill Shoemaker, and the test flight is expected later this year.

Future customers of "Overture" include Virgin Group and Japan Airlines, which have booked 30 planes.

The sonic boom of this three-engine plane is "at least 30 times quieter" than that of Concorde. When landing and taking off, the company said that the "overture" would be as quiet as subsonic aircraft flying on similar routes today.

In the future, a fleet of 2,000 supersonic passenger planes will eventually connect cities all over the world.

Welcome everyone to shoot bricks and spit here!
