China gearbox industry is facing a rapid transition from manual to automatic. Experts predict that by 20 15, more than half of domestic models will adopt automatic gearboxes, mainly at automatic gearboxes, CVT continuously variable gearboxes and DCT dual clutch gearboxes. However, in the domestic gearbox market with an overall scale of 80 billion, domestic gearboxes only account for 20%.
At present, the gearbox produced by joint venture brand is the main force in the domestic gearbox market, accounting for 45%; Followed by foreign brands, accounting for 32%; The gearbox produced by domestic brands has the lowest market share, only 23%. China's imports of automatic transmissions continued to grow, with the total import volume increasing from $480 million of 20/kloc-0 to $5.56 billion in 2009. Developing automatic gearbox is the general trend of the world. Han Lei, deputy secretary-general of China Automotive Engineering Society, said that the adoption rate of automatic gearboxes in the United States and Europe is high, and the 4-speed automatic gearboxes are gradually being replaced by the 6-speed gearboxes which are more fuel-efficient. Vehicles with automatic transmission have a broader market and can get more lucrative profits. In Japan, there are nearly 400 small-displacement cars specially developed for women, including nearly 200 models of AT automatic transmission, 40 models of CVT continuously variable transmission and only a few models of manual transmission.
Although the industrialization of automatic transmission in China has started: North Mercedes-Benz heavy-duty vehicles, FAW and Dongfeng are all developing AMT;; Chery is developing CVT and has made a 6AT prototype. Faw, SAIC and Geely are all developing DCT;; However, at present, the independent innovation of gearbox in China is progressing slowly, and there are three bottlenecks in the development of assembly technology. One is the lack of reliability and anti-fatigue manufacturing technology, the other is the dispersion and lack of basic technology, and the third is that there is no supporting industrial chain of electromechanical integration of automatic gearbox assembly. In addition, multinational companies began to cooperate deeply with domestic mainstream automobile manufacturers and "carve up" their territories according to their geographical location, such as Aisin Japan and Tianjin FAW, ZF and SAIC in Germany, and Borgwarner and FAW and SAIC in the United States. Moreover, multinational companies are introducing the most advanced technology into China, which will have a great impact on domestic gearboxes. (Beiqing)
