Huawei will not go public, and Huawei will not let capital in easily, because the greedy nature of capital will undermine the realization of our ideals. We only fight for ideals, not for money. One of the reasons why Huawei can surpass its competitors is that it is not listed. In fact, as early as 20 14, when I communicated with President Ren, he made it clear that Huawei insisted on not going public and gave three reasons:
1. First, the pig is so fat that it doesn't even purr. Science and technology enterprises are driven by talents. If the company goes public too early, a group of people will become multimillionaires and billionaires, and their enthusiasm for work will decline. This is not good for Huawei, and it is not necessarily good for employees themselves. Huawei will grow slowly and even lose its team.
2. Second, listing is not conducive to the company's decision-making. With Huawei's decentralized shareholding structure, any investor can easily form relative control rights. However, when the profit-seeking financial capital affects Huawei's development pattern, Huawei is not far from collapse. Without listing, the greed of capital will not affect the development of enterprises. Once a company goes public, it will face the problem of the decline of its controlling stake, which is inevitable.
3. Third, listing is not conducive to the long-term development of enterprises. Huawei can go today, surpassing some multinational giants to become a competitive international company, because Huawei has always "planned the future" and planned the company's future with the goal of ten years. Unlike its peers in other industries, Huawei is always led by the nose by the short-term fluctuations of the capital market. Capital has the most temperament and patience. After listing, investors will pursue short-term interests and will not increase investment in R&D. Huawei will lose its competitiveness and development potential. Without listing, Huawei is likely to continue to lead the world.
