Comrade Zhang Guodong was born in Luanxian County, Tangshan City on July 1963. After graduating from hebei mechanical and electrical College, he worked in enterprise management departments and grass-roots units for a long time. Later, he served as deputy director of Tangshan Economic Restructuring Commission, deputy secretary of Qian 'an Municipal Committee, deputy secretary-general of Tangshan Municipal Committee, researcher of Tangshan Municipal Committee Office, deputy secretary of Lunan District Committee of Tangshan City, district head, secretary of Luannan County Committee of Tangshan City, secretary of Party Working Committee of Tangshan Harbor Economic Development Zone, and director of management committee (deputy department level). He studied management economics at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore and obtained a Master of Science degree. Comrade Zhang Guodong has rich experience in leading organs and grass-roots work, and is familiar with investment promotion and project construction.
