Is Salt Industry Group a State-owned Enterprise or a Central Enterprise?

China salt industry is both a central enterprise and a state-owned enterprise.

China National Salt Industry Corporation (formerly known as China Salt Industry Company) was established in 1950, and is now a large state-owned enterprise under the supervision of SASAC in the State Council. Mainly undertake two major tasks:

First, make it stronger and bigger, and realize the preservation and appreciation of state-owned assets.

The second is to undertake the production and operation tasks of national salt monopoly and ensure the supply of qualified iodized salt nationwide.

The development of history

China Salt Industry Group Co., Ltd. was established in February of 1950, formerly known as China Salt Industry Company, directly under the management of the Central Ministry of Trade (later changed to the Ministry of Commerce), mainly engaged in the procurement, transportation, allocation, sales, storage and export of salt products in North China, East China and Central South China, and led and managed the salt trade of wholesale private merchants under the authorization of the Central Ministry of Trade.

1April 1954 was placed under the charge of the Central Ministry of Light Industry.

1964, with the consent of the State Council and the approval of the State Economic Commission, the National Salt Trust was established on the basis of China Salt Company, and its name was still China Salt Company. the State Council authorized the centralized and unified management of the national salt industry.

1968, due to the cultural revolution, the salt trust was forced to disintegrate.

1on February 28th, 980, with the approval of "Jing Qing No.80" document of former State Economic Commission, China Salt Industry Company was renamed as China National Salt Industry Corporation.
