What is sales orientation?

There is a huge difference between production orientation and marketing orientation.

Production orientation is a typical feature of planned economy. Enterprises can only produce according to the production plan, regardless of whether they can be sold, product improvement and sales profit.

Marketing orientation is based on market demand and aims at producing marketable products and making profits. Marketing orientation makes products continuously improve to meet market demand.

The most typical example in the past was the color of the car. A salesperson of an American automobile factory said that they have cars of various colors; On the other hand, Toyota in Japan claims that they produce cars in several colors that customers like.
