1828, Edward Baode set up the first office of Baode company in Singapore. Baode Company's early business was mainly import and export commodities, transportation and insurance agency, and later set foot in planting and mining.
185 1 year, Edward Baode set up a separate office in London, which was responsible for selling agricultural products imported by Baode Company from Singapore and Malaysia in the London commodity market and engaging in the transportation of industrial products from Europe to the Far East. Just as the East India Company promoted the development of the Indian subcontinent, the Baode Company also played a very important role in the economic and social development of Singapore and Borneo.
Edward Baode died on 1888, and he left a legacy, hoping to use this donation to start a sailor college. Baode College was founded in Tanjong Pagoda, 1892. The architecture of this university has long been a landmark of Singapore.
1960, Singapore Baode Company was listed on the Singapore Stock Exchange.
By 2002, Baode Group had established more than 30 branches all over the world, including Australia, China, Britain, USA, Malaysia, Indonesia and Venezuela. At present, the core business areas of Baode Group are: engineering, information technology and education services.
