Wujing Expressway is the abbreviation of Wuhan-Jingmen section of Hurong Expressway, the horizontal section of "79 18 Network" of national expressway, and an important part of the main skeleton network of "six verticals, five horizontals and one ring" highway in Hubei Province. Wujing Expressway has a total length of 185.339 km, four lanes in both directions and a design speed of 120 km per hour. It starts from Wuhan Outer Ring Expressway in the east, passes through Hanchuan City, Yingcheng City, Tianmen City, jingshan county City and Zhongxiang City in Hubei Province, and reaches Jingmen City in the west, connecting with Jingmen-Yichang Expressway, and connecting with Suiyue Expressway (Suizhou, Hubei Province to Yueyang, Hunan Province) and Beijing-Zhuhai Expressway. Wujing Expressway was approved by Hubei Provincial Communications Department on June 9, 2005. The national development and reform commission approved the project investment of about 8.5 billion yuan. The project officially started on September 1 2006. 2010 May 3 1 officially opened to traffic.
