In 2002, when Ctrip was developing smoothly, he quit Ctrip and founded Home Inn, and his identity changed from Ctrip President to Home Inn CEO. At that time, the only budget hotels in China were Jinjiang Inn and Xinya Hotel. He took a notebook, a ruler and an old Canon film camera, and traveled to every Jinjiang Star in Shanghai and Ningbo. He wrote down the price, the number of rooms, the width of the bed and the height of the door, and chatted with the manager and waiter on duty in his spare time, so that he could clearly understand the source information and cost composition.
In 2005, he founded Hanting Hotel Chain and became CEO. In February of the same year, Lishan Investment Company was established as CEO, and its investment direction was changed to commercial real estate, with an initial investment of about 20 million US dollars.
