Over the years, Liugang has been catching up with the top three activities in the same industry in China by implementing the company's important technical and economic indicators, and various technical and economic indicators have made great progress. Some indicators have reached the top three in the same industry in China, and the management level and economic benefits of enterprises have been greatly improved. As one of the main parts, energy efficiency benchmarking has gradually changed from extensive to resource-saving after several years of practice.
1. benchmarking
In carrying out the work of energy efficiency benchmarking management, Liugang insisted on combining its own characteristics. First, it determined the top three units in the same industry in China as learning models. Through analysis, it determined the comprehensive energy consumption per ton of steel, energy consumption in main processes, fresh water consumption per ton of steel and other indicators as learning themes. According to the monthly statistical information of energy consumption indicators of key large and medium-sized iron and steel enterprises in China and the information of energy balance sheets exchanged by various iron and steel enterprises, Liugang analyzed and found its own problems, and decided to implement management innovation, carry out technological transformation, adjust product structure and eliminate backward production technology as the main ways to benchmark energy efficiency.

Management innovation is an indispensable means to realize the continuous improvement of the company's energy consumption index. On the basis of the previous systems of energy quota management and energy law enforcement inspection, Liugang introduced the market management mode, dynamically adjusted the energy price according to market changes, and implemented the policy of increasing the price and charging for the energy consumed beyond the quota, which increased the cost pressure of each energy-using unit and promoted its enthusiasm and initiative for energy conservation.
In production management, adhere to the principle of giving priority to benefits, use effective resources to produce products with the best benefits, create the maximum output value, and reduce the energy consumption of enterprise output value.
Since the mid-1990s, Liugang has successively carried out the standardization certification of three international standards: "ISO 900 1, ISO 1400 1, OHSAS 1800 1", and passed the audit of authoritative certification bodies in China, thus establishing the quality.
3. Carry out technical transformation
Liugang pays attention to constantly learning from and applying advanced and mature technologies at home and abroad, reforming and controlling equipment aging and frequent defects, and fundamentally improving the energy-saving and environmental protection status of equipment.
(1) TRT project of blast furnace: 30% of the energy required by blast furnace blower can be recovered, with considerable economic benefits.
(2) Gas-fired power generation project: make full use of secondary energy, reduce the total power consumption of blast furnace, and bring remarkable benefits to enterprises.
(3) Motor speed regulation and power saving project: The Coking Plant of Liugang took the lead in implementing the technical transformation of high-voltage frequency conversion speed regulation of coke oven gas fans in China, and the power saving effect reached more than 40%.
(4) Blast furnace gas dry dust removal project: bag-type dry gas dust removal is adopted to reduce water consumption, and at the same time, the gas temperature at the inlet of the hot blast stove is increased to reduce the energy consumption of the blast furnace hot blast stove.
4. Adjust product structure and eliminate backward production technology.
Adhering to the new industrialization road of sustainable development, Liugang invested a lot of money to implement technical transformation, and eliminated a number of small blast furnaces, small converters, small coke ovens, small sintering, small seamless and horizontal rolling mills with backward technology, low output, high pollution and high energy consumption and production cost, and introduced advanced technologies and equipment at home and abroad, which greatly improved the technical process and equipment level, laying a solid foundation for Liugang to optimize product structure and reduce energy consumption.
5. Results achieved
Through the development of energy efficiency benchmarking management, the energy consumption index of Liugang has been well controlled, and the benchmarking management level of energy efficiency has been continuously improved, as shown in Table 5.2.
