Introduction to Bain Capital

Bain Capital is an international private equity investment fund, which manages more than $65 billion in assets, involving private equity, venture capital, listed stock hedge funds and leveraged debt asset management. Bain Capital was established in 1984, providing private equity investment and additional acquisitions for more than 250 companies in various industries around the world. The company has 200 professionals.

Of the investment of about $654.38 billion in Asia, more than half are invested in seven major projects in China market, and the rest are invested in Japanese market.

Bain Capital has been investing in technology business for a long time, and its current investment projects include Sungard Data Systems, NXP, Sensata Technology, FCI, Sun Phone, Applied Systems and MEI Conlux. Bain Capital is headquartered in Boston and has branches in Hongkong, Shanghai, Tokyo, new york, London and Munich.

On September 28th, 2007, 3Com announced that it accepted the takeover offer of Bain Capital, a private equity investment company. Bain Capital will acquire 3Com for $2.2 billion in cash.
