Shanghai Automobile Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "SAIC") covers R&D, and produces and sells passenger cars and commercial vehicles, including: SAIC Passenger Car Company, SAIC Datong Automobile Co., Ltd., Shanghai Volkswagen Co., Ltd., SAIC-GM-Wuling Automobile Co., Ltd., Nanjing Automobile Group Co., Ltd., Nanjing Iveco Automobile Co., Ltd., SAIC Hongyan Commercial Vehicle Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Shenwo Bus Co., Ltd.
Founded in 2007, SAIC Passenger Car Company is a legally registered and licensed subsidiary of SAIC, which is responsible for the research, development, manufacturing and sales of SAIC's own brand products. Now the company has two major automobile brands, Roewe and MG.
SAIC General Motors Co., Ltd. was established in June of 1997 and 12, and was jointly funded by China SAIC and American General Motors Company. At present, it has three brands, Buick, Chevrolet and Cadillac, and more than 20 series of product lineups. Products cover SUV, car, MPV, hybrid and pure electric vehicles and other market segments.
SAIC Volkswagen Automotive Co., Ltd. is a Sino-German joint venture jointly operated by SAIC and Audi Co., Ltd. The company signed a contract on June 1984. This is one of the oldest automobile joint ventures in China. Headquartered in Anting, Shanghai, the company has established production bases in Nanjing, Yizheng, Urumqi, Ningbo and Changsha.
SAIC Volkswagen now produces and sells products from Volkswagen and Skoda, covering A0, A, B, C, SUV, MPV and other market segments. Among them, Volkswagen brand models include Polo family, New Santana family, LaVida family, Lamando, NewPassat brand new Passat, PHIDEON Huiang, Tiguan Silk Road Edition, AllNewTiguanL brand new Tiguan L, Teramont Touran and Touran. Skoda brand models include fabia Jing Rui, RAPID Sharp, RAPIDSPACEBACK Xindong, Ming Rui, Ming Rui OCTAVIACOMBI Ming Rui Brigade, SUPERB Express, KODIAQ Kodiak, KAROQ Krook and KAMIQ Komuk.
