Why is single glass module more expensive than double glass?

There are differences between them in attenuation, wear resistance, scope of application and whether aluminum frame is needed.

First, attenuation

Double-glass solar module: The attenuation is about 0.5% in 30 years, and the life cycle of double-glass components is longer, which is 2 1% higher than that of ordinary components.

Single glass solar module: the warranty period is about 0.7% for 25 years. Life cycle is not as long as double glass.

Second, wear resistance.

Double-glass solar module: The glass of the double-glass module has high wear resistance, and the insulation of the glass body is better than that of the back plate, which meets the higher system voltage.

Single glass solar module: The wear resistance of glass is very low, and the superiority of glass is very low, which is relatively high for the cost.

Third, the scope of application

Double-glazed solar module: It is suitable for photovoltaic power stations in residential buildings, chemical plants, seaside, waterside, areas with severe acid rain or salt fog.

Single glass solar module: Suitable for industry, with high environmental requirements and low water permeability.

4. Do you need an aluminum frame?

Double-glazing solar module: Double-glazing assemblies do not require an aluminum frame.

Single glass solar module: Need aluminum frame.
