After 5G, all equipment in the logistics field will gradually become robots with computing power, networking capability and AI capability. For example, cars will become robots, clothes hangers will become robots, and even trays will become robots in the future.
20 19 may be the fastest year for the logistics industry to update and iterate.
On the one hand, second-tier express delivery enterprises, such as Fengda, Guo Tong Express and Quanfeng Express, were eliminated because of fierce market competition and poor management. On the other hand, with the advent of artificial intelligence and the 5G era, various new technologies began to land in the logistics industry and began to transform the upstream and downstream of the entire industrial chain.
"Logistics companies will continue to close down and the industry has entered a new stage," Zhai Xuehun, chairman of G7, told ai Finance. Although e-commerce has promoted the development of express delivery industry, making China express delivery in a leading position in the world in terms of cost and efficiency, logistics in some traditional industries such as cement, coal and steel is still at a very low level, and the next step is to improve the logistics level in these fields through technology.
"The original technology is too expensive for many traditional industries. Now the Internet of Things and big data technologies are quite mature, and 98% of logistics elements can be connected with the Internet of Things, thus improving industry efficiency and reducing accident rate. " Zhai Xuehun said.
He believes that after 5G, all equipment in the logistics field will gradually become robots with computing power, networking capability and AI capability. For example, cars will become robots, clothes hangers will become robots, and even trays will become robots in the future.

A: In the venture capital circle, we have been talking about the topic of "capital winter" from last year to this year. I noticed that the G-7 did not announce any new financing this year. As an entrepreneur, how do you feel about the capital winter? What is the reason why no new funds have come in this year?
ZXH: We have no financing plan this year. Because, at the end of last year, we completed the financing of 320 million US dollars, and the money is still enough. Moreover, our business flow and gross profit are doubling every quarter this year, so we actually don't have much financial burden. In addition, a new round of financing has just started recently, mainly to consider some longer-term things, such as investment and mergers and acquisitions.
The most concrete feelings about the capital winter mainly come from our customers. A big reason for our revenue growth this year is that logistics companies are beginning to care about costs, even if they save a little. I have noticed that many companies in the logistics industry have closed down this year, and I think this process will continue.
Ai: If you rate the company's performance this year, what do you think?
ZXH: I think I can score almost 80 points. As an internet of things technology company, the original customer service in the logistics field is more of an underlying system, that is, selling technology. Now we split this system into intelligent equipment (G7 intelligent trailer), intelligent settlement (business settlement such as refueling and highway toll collection), customer safety insurance business and other specific products, which is a major service upgrade.
This year, our three businesses-settlement business, smart equipment business and safety insurance business-have all started. Among them, the intelligent equipment business-digital cargo hold accounts for about 60% of the trailer rental market; Secondly, this year, we successfully integrated safety and insurance into our customers' solutions. At present, there are about hundreds of customers, underwriting tens of thousands of vehicles. Third, our truck settlement business is almost 100 million a day.
I think we finally have a little platform effect. At present, the number of trucks connected by G7 exceeds 6.5438+0.3 million, compared with 800,000 last year. In addition, last year's turnover was less than 10 billion yuan, and it will reach more than 20 billion yuan by the end of this year, which is growing rapidly.
AI: On the technical level, 6.5438+0.3 million trucks running on the road will generate a lot of data. How does G7 digest these data?
ZXH: Let me give you an example. It turns out that we think the expressway is the most dangerous because of its high speed. However, after analyzing the big data of 6.5438+0.3 million trucks, we found that the most dangerous is the traffic light intersection of provincial highway and national highway.
Road freight is recognized as a high-risk field. According to the statistics of the third party, the average payout ratio of truck insurance is higher than 80%. It is difficult for insurance companies to make profits, so most insurance companies provide truck insurance services at higher prices, which increases the operating costs of the fleet. For a long time, it was a lose-lose situation.
After discovering this problem, we launched the G7 security insurance business with banks this year by using the big data combination algorithm. Through this business, we have reduced the intersection accident in payout ratio by about 40%, which is the value of the data.
A: Just now you mentioned that G7 has networked 98% of the logistics elements. What parts are included? What's left without the Internet of Things?
ZXH: First of all, vehicles, rear trailers, fuel consumption, urea, lubricating oil and so on have all realized the Internet of Things. Now all that remains is after-sales maintenance. At present, the customer is doing it offline, and we haven't settled the account yet. This part is still difficult to go online because it is related to human services.
AI: One more thing, you recently released solutions for express delivery, express delivery, coal, cement and other industries. However, the rookie of express delivery and JD.COM have provided mature solutions. What's the difference between G7 and them?
ZXH: Actually, these are all industries that we used to serve, but the depth of service is not enough. Most express delivery companies, whether internal or external, use G7 as a refueling service plan. What we provide is the operation of drivers and trucks, and the settlement and payment behind it are all done by us. We have most of the truck safety equipment. Therefore, we don't have an either-or relationship with JD.COM and Cainiao. We have a more complete business plan for them, and we provide him with basic Internet of Things services.
AI: 5G is a hot topic. What do you think is the change to the whole logistics industry?
ZXH: First of all, I think the most important change of 5G is actually the Internet of Things, which is the industrial Internet of Things. After 5G, all equipment in the logistics field will gradually become robots with computing power, networking capability and AI capability. For example, cars will become robots, clothes hangers will become robots, and even trays will become robots in the future.
A: How long is it expected?
ZXH: I think it will take two to five years. It gradually became popular in the first five years and became more AI-oriented in the last five years.
Ai: From the first investment in 2008 to now, what new knowledge do you have about the logistics industry where G7 is located?
ZXH: My most important judgment at first was that logistics itself is a data-driven industry, and technology will play an increasingly important role. The car networking route we chose at that time was gradually upgraded to the whole chain of the Internet of Things. We did this right, so now G7 has become an Internet of Things service company.
I think the logistics industry has entered a new stage. On the one hand, due to the development of e-commerce, the express delivery industry has been absolutely ahead in the whole field, and its efficiency and cost advantages are absolutely world-class. However, on the other hand, the transportation of cement, coal and steel is still at a very low level. So I think the contrast is particularly large, and now it is the stage where technology will improve the particularly low part. Technology used to be too expensive for those industries, but now it is quite mature.
Ai: Last question, looking back on this year, where do you think the biggest difficulty at present comes from?
ZXH: I think it's still organization. At present, because we are doing several different businesses at the same time, how to organize different teams better, more efficiently and faster is a problem that needs to be focused on.
