The history of Lilly company

1876, Colonel Lilly founded Lilly Company in Indianapolis, which is located in Indiana in the midwest of the United States. As a 38-year-old pharmacist and a veteran of the American Civil War, Colonel Lilly was very disappointed with those poorly formulated and often ineffective drugs. So he made the following promises to himself and society:

He wants to set up a pharmaceutical company to produce the highest quality products. His company will only produce drugs that require a doctor's prescription, and will not produce fake drugs blindly promoted by charlatans. Lilly's products are developed and produced by using the most advanced science and technology.

Although his business is developing smoothly, Colonel Lilly is still not satisfied with the traditional drug monitoring methods. From 65438 to 0886, he hired a young chemist as a full-time researcher to conduct quality inspection by applying and developing the latest science and technology. Together, they laid the foundation for the tradition of Lilly, that is:

First, we strive to improve the quality of existing products, and then develop to invent and develop new and better drugs.

Later, Colonel Lily's son and two grandchildren successively served as the president of the company. Each of them has made a unique contribution to the management of the company. These management styles gradually formed the company's culture, in which employees are regarded as the most precious wealth, which is still the core of the company's business philosophy.
