Jingtang Port started construction in August 1989, and the provincial and municipal governments attached great importance to supporting the construction of Jingtang Port. In 2003, the freight volume exceeded 20 million tons, reaching 20.83 million tons, an increase of 24 percentage points over the national coastal ports. Jingtang Port has developed into one of the important regional ports serving Beijing-Tianjin-Tangshan, North China and Northwest China, and has become the most radiant and cohesive basic resource in Tangshan's existing economic resources.

On June 5438+ 10, 2003, Tangshan Port Group Co., Ltd. was established with Tangshan Port Investment Co., Ltd. as the main sponsor, and six shareholders including Beijing Jingtai Investment Management Center, Mo Lifeng Yanshan Investment Management Center in Hebei Province, Tangshan Construction Investment Company, Hebei Construction Investment Company, SDIC Transportation Company and Guo Fu Investment Company initiated the establishment of Tangshan Port Group Co., Ltd., which successfully completed the port system reform and expanded Jingtang Port.
