Southwest Tarim Exploration and Development Company is the first team to enter Tarim Basin for oil exploration and development and find oil fields after the founding of New China. In the early 1950s, under the harsh natural conditions in Tarim, our team commanded the great pioneering work of conquering the "Sea of Death" for the first time in human history and entering and leaving the Taklimakan Desert for nine times [Picture 2]. In the following decades, we experienced a tortuous and arduous exploration process in Tarim Basin. After several vicissitudes of life, it traveled north and south, covering Tarim, and successively discovered Yiqixi, Kekeya, Bashtopu and other oil fields.
Since the discovery of Kekeya oil and gas field by 1977, our oil army, which has been drifting in the sand sea of Tarim for decades, has settled down in the southwest corner of the basin and started the entrepreneurial process of petroleum industry in southwest Tarim.
For more than 20 years, based on the southwest of the tower, he established a family in the barren Gobi. Groups of outstanding Chinese sons and daughters came here from all parts of the motherland to join the entrepreneurial team of petroleum industry in southwest Tarim. Together with the old and new oil people, they are practicing the life pursuit of "I have suffered a lot and millions of people in southern Xinjiang are happy" and carrying forward the spirit of "hard work, seeking truth from facts and innovation, striving for oil and selfless dedication" in southwest Tarim. The company has developed from a single oil and gas exploration in the past to a comprehensive oil enterprise integrating oil and gas exploration, oil and gas field development, oil and gas gathering and transportation, refining and auxiliary production. The oil base has changed from the Gobi desert in the past to an emerging oil city that has begun to take shape today.
