In addition to AGP8X and dual-channel DDR, another selling point of SiS655 is its support for Intel's latest hyper-threading technology.
SIS655 with SiS963 south bridge.
SiS655FX
SiS655FX chipset is actually an overclocked version of SiS655. SiS655FX north bridge chip has no new features except supporting 800MHZ and dual-channel PC3200. Like SiS655, it is also a south bridge connection supporting AGP 8x and mutiol 16-bit * 533 MHz I/O. The difference from SIS655 north bridge chip is that SiS655FX adopts 800MHz front-end bus speed and DDR400 dual-channel memory architecture.
SIS655TX
So what is the difference between SIS655TX and the previous SIS655FX? The biggest difference is that the silicon system improves the advanced superfluid engine. The improved advanced superfluid can greatly increase the data exchange between chipset and memory channel, and effectively improve work efficiency.
Three. SiS 656 chipset
North Bridge supports PCIe x 16 bus, which is the first chip line product of SiS, and it is quite groundbreaking. It supports 800MHz front-end bus, dual-channel DDR400 and DDR2 533MHz/667MHz, and has passed the compatibility verification of silicon system. In addition, it can provide memory bandwidth of 10.6GB/s, which is 2GB more than 8.6GB per second of dual-channel DDR2-533 memory, and the transmission bandwidth is increased by nearly 20%.
It is particularly worth mentioning that this is also the core logic chip that supports the highest speed memory DDR2-667MHz on the market. Silicon system technology is ahead of competitors in chip development time. After SiS 648FX chip pioneered the world's leading support for DDR 400 specification, he once again demonstrated his advanced high-speed memory support technology. The chipset supports Intel Pentium 4 and Celeron processors, and supports full-line processors with Socket 478 or LGA775 interfaces. Its compatibility is also quite extensive, and it is also a good choice for low-end motherboard products.
It is more operable in the collocation of south bridge chips, SiS965 or SiS965L south bridge chips. SiS965L supports two PCI-Express x 1 ports, six PCI ports, eight USB 2.0 interfaces, eight-channel sound cards, 10/ 100Mb network cards, two serial ATA 150 interfaces (supporting Raid) and two integrated ATA-33/50 interfaces. Compared with SiS965L chip, Sis965 southbridge chip can provide four serial ATA interfaces and integrate 1000Mb network card, and the other two chipsets are the same.
Four. SiS66 1FX
This chipset is upgraded on the basis of 66 1GX, mainly adding support for Pentium-D, LGA775 and 800MHz front-end bus.

Part II: AMD platform
1.SIS740+SIS96 1(96 1B)
Duron, Athlon, AthronXP single CPU/ slot A/ front-end bus: 200 or 266MHz/PC 133 SDRAM or DDR266/ up to 3GB/ integrated graphics card SIS Real256/ AGP slot is not available.
The south bridge is as mentioned above.
Second, SIS74 1
In the upgraded version of 740, support for Sempron has been added. The front-end bus has been changed to 266 MHz, 333 MHz and 400MHz. The memory only supports DDR memory, and the maximum support is 3GB DDR333 or 2GB DDR400. The AGP8X slot is also provided when the graphics card is integrated. Another change is that the standard south bridge is SIS 964: ATA/KOOC-0/33 * 2/SATA/KOOC-0/.0 * 2/USB 2.0 * 8/AC97/SATA RAID 0,/KOOC-0/,JBOD/ Integration/KOOC-0/0m//KOOC-0.
Another SIS74 1GX does not support 400MHz front-end bus and DDR400. Others are the same as 740.
Three. SIS74X
SIS735 and 745 have poor performance. Needless to say, the characteristics of SIS746 are: supporting AMD's full range of SocketA platforms Athlon, AthlonXP and Duron processors/supporting 200/266/333MHz front-end bus/supporting AMD PowerNow! Technology Three DIMM slots can support up to 3GB PC 2700/2100/1600 DDR memory /AGP 8X interface /multi ol system bus, data transfer rate 1GB/s, with SiS963 south bridge/USB 2.0/ATA133 IDE. Nothing special, and there are not many products on the market, in short.
SIS748
While VIA released KT600, Silicon Systems Technology released a chipset supporting AMD Athlon XP 3200+ and FSB 400MHz: SiS748.
SiS748 supports FSB 400MHz/ DDR400/ "superfluid" and other technologies/South Bridge supports SiS963L/ MuTIOL technology/Ata66/100/133 IDE controller and so on.
Four. SIS75X series
SIS755+SIS963 (long)
SIS760(GX)+SIS964
SIS755FX+SIS964
AMD Sempron, Athlon 64, Athlon 64 FX, Opteron, Athlon 64 X2 (755 FX)/Socket 754,940,939 (755 FX)/800 MHz (755 FX support 1000MHz)/DDR400 (other memory specifications depend on CPU)/AGP.
See above for the function of South Bridge.
SIS756+SIS965
Starting from this chipset, SIS changed the support for AGP8X on AMD platform to PCI-Ex 16, which is a very important change, and other features have not changed much. The new South Bridge is also launched on the INTER platform.
SIS76 1GX+SIS966
This chipset can be regarded as the integrated graphics version of 756, and it also provides support for PCI-Ex 16. Since the South Bridge was changed to 966, the main upgrade was that the integrated sound card was changed to high-definition audio, and the integrated network card became 10M/ 100M and 100M/ 10000 M. ..
Personal feeling: SIS is squeezed by VIA, ATI, NVIDIA, etc. On the AMD platform, and the results are far less than those of the INTER platform, it gives people the impression that the specifications are high, but the performance is not good (except for some products), the low-end feeling is too strong, and the market effect is not very good. Improper places, everyone criticized.
