It can also be said that the factory used the electronic differential system for steering wheel control of F 1 racing car for the first time, so that drivers can adjust five different E-s at will on the steering wheel according to different road conditions, just like Ferrari F 1 drivers.

The F430 Spider that the factory arranged for us to test is a model with carbon fiber ceramic brake discs and racing leather bucket chairs. In other words, the factory deliberately provided a more equipped model, which allowed us to squeeze its ultimate potential more heartily. When I sat in the tightly wrapped racing bucket seat, I saw a brand-new steering wheel, which smelled of video games. In addition to the familiar left-minus-right shift lever, the red engine start button in the center of the steering wheel is very eye-catching, and the brand-new E-Diff knob at the lower right is called "Manettino" by Ferrari drivers. * * * It is divided into five settings: Ice, low grip, Sport, Race and CST off. By controlling the torque of the engine, the best traction can be obtained, and the suspension, CST stabilization system and traction can be controlled instantly in 150 microseconds, so as to obtain the driver's most desired dynamic response. The engineering designer of the factory specially encourages us to test these different electronic differential settings in detail. In fact, I also found that only in this way can I truly appreciate the bottomless potential of this V8 supercar.

There is a charming charm.

In fact, I was in a state of excitement from the moment I sat in the driver's seat of F430 Spider and looked at the sports car instrument and steering wheel in front of me. When I pressed the lux engine start button, a 490-horsepower V8 engine behind me immediately made a thunderous crash, and the feeling of excitement immediately rose with the roar of the engine. Although we haven't officially driven to the mountains of Modena to really experience the power of the F430 Spider, we already have amazing power that makes people feel high, which proves that Ferrari's E-Diff knob and the red engine start button designed on the steering wheel really cooperate with each other. After starting the engine, I first use the Sport setting to explore the temperament of this beast. It can accelerate 0- 100km/h in 4. 1 sec. When my right hand pulled the paddle into the 1 gear, my right foot at the same time awakened the throttle from the low exhaust sound to the high-pitched roar of 7000 rpm, and the really exciting Ferrari gene was immediately submerged. My first-hand feeling is that the shift of F 1 gearbox is much cleaner than that of F360, and the clutch engagement is smoother. In the past, the frustration of slow gear shifting in urban areas was swept away, and the clutch engagement was almost imperceptible, which was a very obvious progress.

Five modes of chassis direct communication

According to the factory, Sport is the standard mode of E-Diff, which is most suitable for general highway applications, because it has the best performance output and the balance of preventing runaway skidding. Compared with the movement mode before F360, the setting of F430 is more dynamic, the response of active suspension will become more dynamic, the driving stability system will not intervene in real time before individual wheels slip, and the engine will not cut off oil in real time, so that drivers have more autonomous driving space. Reflected on the mountain road, it is only found that the instrument flashes the lights involved in the driving stability system occasionally, but the high-speed shunt is still very stable, and the intervention of the system is not felt at all. As for the race mode specially designed for Track Day racing day, the shift action will definitely be more fierce, and the system can allow a little tail flick or slippage. I have also experienced a small tail flick on a rainy day, but the process is gradual and predictable, and it can be corrected as long as it returns to the direction in time. It can be seen that the power frame of the chassis really has bottomless skills; Low grip is designed for slippery or low grip roads. It is a mode of engine convergence power output, which is of great help to drivers. I've tried radical bending, and it's still as steady as Mount Tai. It's easier to control than sports and competitions. As the name implies, ice is designed for snow, and it is also the most involved mode of traction and driving stability system. This system only allows automatic gear shifting to prevent the engine from losing control when the gear shifting speed is too high. In fact, it is also suitable for fully automatic walking in urban areas.

Any road is safer.

If you are more radical, you can use CST off. Except for ABS and EBD electronic braking force distribution system, all driving stability systems are basically closed, which makes the handling closer to the performance of the car. However, CST off and launch control are only tested on ordinary roads, so there is no chance to try. In fact, after repeated tests, I found that different E-Diff settings can affect the driving response under the setting of wire control, because the response of active suspension will be different. Basically, the more intense the setting, the stronger the shock absorption hardness. When it is set to low grip or ice, the active suspension will soften in real time, the riding feeling will become more comfortable, and even the sound waves in the exhaust throat will become warmer and purer. I would suggest that you use a low grip when you are comfortable on weekdays and exercise when you want to run fast. It is most appropriate to use the most intense race setting on the track day, and CST off plus launch control can be used when starting the track. Basically, with this E-Diff system which combines traction control and driving stability, the 490 HP F430 Spider has better tracking performance and safer handling performance on any road surface.

Progress of F430

The newly launched F430 automobile series is basically based on the excellent chassis of F360. On the one hand, the suspension is more racing, and the rigidity of the car body is further improved. As for the convertible F430 Spider, the body weight is about 70kg heavier than that of the hardtop model, except that 10kg is the weight of the hood, and the rest is the additional weight to strengthen the rigidity of the body. The power heart was improved by Maserati's 4.2-liter V8 engine, but all the parts except the cylinder block were completely modified by Ferrari engineers, so that the maximum horsepower was increased to 490 horsepower and the power output was more powerful.
