Introduction of Raven UAV

1999, the U.S army purchased four FQM- 15 1 pointer UAVs for the advanced concept technology demonstration (ACTD) program of urban terrain military operations (MOUT). It turns out that the pointer system is very useful, but the ground control station is too big for human beings to carry. Therefore, the space environment company was asked to develop a smaller ground station, and then the company developed a smaller aircraft, named "Big Crow". Basically, it is only half the size of the pointer, and its verification concept machine was named SUAV (Small UAV), and the first flashlight was made in June 2006.

In 2002, the shiny small UAV was developed into a raven in the Army Pathfinder advanced concept technology demonstration program.

The prototype of raven is handmade, which is not suitable for mass production. So the first ship was the Brock I Raven, passing by, and began to equip troops in May 2003.

Some defects were found in the test of Brock I UAV, including launch difficulty and flight instability. These shortcomings have been corrected in the second category. Type II began to equip troops in September 2003.

Type II Raven is scheduled to be evaluated in Afghanistan. Finally, the US Special Operations Command finally ordered 179 raven systems, each containing three raven planes. At the end of 2004, ravens were officially installed.
