China is not only rich in rare earth resources, but also has the advantages of complete minerals and rare earth elements, reasonable rare earth grade and occurrence distribution, which has laid a solid foundation for the development of rare earth industry in China. The metallogenic conditions of rare earth resources in China are very favorable, and the types of deposits are complete, widely distributed and relatively concentrated.
Thousands of mineral deposits, occurrences and mineralization points have been discovered in more than two thirds of provinces (regions) in China. However, it is concentrated in Baiyun Obo, Gannan in Jiangxi, Peyo in Guangdong, Liangshan in Sichuan, Weishan in Shandong and other Inner Mongolia regions, forming a distribution pattern of north, south, west and east, with the characteristics that the north is light and the south is heavy.
Extended data
More than two-thirds of the hundreds of discovered occurrences are minerals associated with * * *, which has high comprehensive utilization value. However, most of the ore deposits have complex material composition, fine disseminated ore and most of them are difficult to separate. For example, the Bayan Obo deposit contains more than 70 kinds of elements and 170 kinds of minerals, among which rare earth, niobium and tantalum have huge reserves, and it is a rare large-scale rare earth and rare metal deposit in the world.
There are rare earth minerals such as monazite, bastnaesite, bastnaesite, Yellow River ore in iron ore, although the ore structure is complex and the disseminated particle size is fine. However, through the continuous research of mineral processing and metallurgy, the concentrate grade, smelting extraction and recovery rate have been greatly improved, and it has become the main raw material base of light rare earth in China.
China's Yunnan, Guizhou, Sichuan, Hunan and other places are relatively rich in phosphate rock resources. For example, Yunnan-Guizhou phosphate rock is a super-large medium-low grade sedimentary deposit, with a phosphate rock reserve of over 65.438+0.6 billion tons and an associated rare earth reserve of over 700,000 tons (the rare earth content is 0. 5 ‰ ~ 654.38+0 ‰).
Yttrium accounts for about 35% of rare earth, praseodymium-neodymium accounts for about 20%, and terbium-dysprosium accounts for about 2% ~ 5%. The distribution is close to the ionic ore with the highest value, and it is the reserve resource of medium and heavy rare earth after ionic ore.
