1. Main router settings:
Enter the main page of router management-Advanced Settings-Wireless Settings (write down the channel, SSID)- Security Settings (write down the security mode, encryption algorithm and password) -WDS Settings -WDS Mode (self-study mode).
Network Settings-LAN-Write down Management IP Address -DHCP Type (On)
2. Settings as a relay router:
1, select the relay mode:
Enter the router management interface-Advanced Settings-Wireless Settings -WDS Settings -WDS Mode (Relay Mode) and scan. Search for the SSID of the previous main router, and select 1. If prompted to change the channel, click OK. Check whether the MAC address of WDS base point is filled with the MAC of the corresponding main router, and click Save Settings.
2. Basic Settings-Channel (same as the main router)
3. Security settings (security mode, encryption algorithm and password selection are the same as those of the main router)
4. Network settings -LAN-LAN settings (the IP address is changed to be in the same network segment as the main router, but the last bit of the IP address needs to be changed) -DHCP type (disabled) application keeps the settings.
At this point, the relay mode settings are all completed.
Three. As a setting for bridging routers
1. Enter the router management interface-Advanced Settings-Wireless Settings -WDS Settings -WDS Mode (Bridging Mode) and scan. Search for the SSID of the previous main router, and select 1. If prompted to change the channel, click OK. Check whether the MAC address of WDS base point is filled with the MAC of the corresponding main router, and click Save Settings.
Below. For operation steps, refer to the relay mode above to complete the setting of step 2.3.4.
note:
1. Bridge mode is only responsible for connecting the main router and exchanging data with the main router, and does not accept the connection of wireless clients (that is, it no longer has the function of wireless AP, and the wireless network card cannot connect this route). Can only be connected by wires.
2.WDS is only used as an extended advanced router. In addition to wireless access control, no other firewall control functions are provided, which need to be implemented on the main router.
Matters needing attention in building WDS wireless network:
1. Pay attention to the choice of encryption method to ensure that the encryption method and key match.
2. Pay attention to turn off the DHCP function of the extended router.
3. All wireless routers joining WDS network should work on the same channel.
4. Wireless routers joining WDS should be configured with the same network segment but different IP addresses.
5. When scanning is turned on, the wireless connection will be disconnected, so it must be configured with wired connection.
Password setting of jcg router
First of all, the wireless router you just bought has a password when it leaves the factory. For example, this router JHR-N8 15R has a code, and each router has its own password, which is different. This can protect your network security. So where can I find this password? Look at the back of the router.
As you can see from the figure, there is a "network key", and here is the password for wireless connection. Note: There are letters in the password here. These letters are case-sensitive.
If you want to change the password or encryption method, you need to enter the router settings page.
The specific steps are as follows:
Connect the router with a network cable, and then enter 192. 168. 1 in the browser to enter the router settings page, and click wireless connection. Enter the wireless settings page.
Click "Security Settings" to enter the security settings page and set the wireless password.
The "authentication key" here is the password for wireless connection. You can modify the password here. If the security mode you choose is WPA Personal or WPA2 Personal, the modified password must be 8 digits or more. Note: The letters here are case-sensitive.
Note: There is a place to pay attention to here, which is "safe mode". Here, the default security mode of the factory is "WPA2 person", which is relatively advanced. If your system is WindowsXPServicePack2, then your computer does not support this advanced security mode, so you need to choose "WPA2 Personal" security mode.
