June every year is the registration time for the national unified examination of customs declaration qualification. Recently, our "training studio" has been receiving readers' inquiries about the customs declaration exam. What they are most concerned about is, of course, the career prospects of customs declarers: Is it easy for customs declarers to find jobs? Is the customs broker a "golden collar job"? What kind of person is suitable for this line of work?
With these questions, we interviewed Ji, Minister of Training Department of Shanghai Customs Association.
Mr. Yue Sheng and Mr. Tao Weiming from the Air Transport Department of Changfa International Freight Co., Ltd. provided valuable advice to those who want to enter the business from the perspective of industry management and enterprise employment.
The examination threshold is not high and the settlement rate is low.
With the continuous expansion of China's foreign trade import and export volume, the popularity of customs declaration examination is also rising. Judging from the registration situation in Shanghai, in 2006, there were 5438+0, and more than 1. 1 10,000 people signed up. By 2003, the number had risen to more than 20,000 people.
Ji believes that it is one-sided to evaluate the popularity of this industry only from the popularity of registration. It can be seen that the increasing number of applicants year after year is closely related to the demand for talents in the foreign trade industry, on the other hand, it is also aimed at the unsatisfactory employment of college graduates. In the increasing number of applicants, college students and "three-school students" account for a large proportion.
At the same time, the passing rate of the annual customs declaration examination is not high, and the national average is only about 10%. Even candidates who come directly from Shanghai Customs Education and Training Center can only pass the exam once. The most difficult part of the customs declaration exam is "customs declaration practice", which accounts for 60% of the exam content, and many people without practical experience often lose points on it.
However, it has also been pointed out that the registration threshold of secondary school and high school education makes the average quality of candidates lower, and the low pass rate of customs declarers is inevitable. People who are interested in this need not be intimidated by the pass rate.
A work permit adds icing on the cake to the experience.
Due to the increasing popularity of customs declaration examination registration, customs declaration examination training has also become a "hot cake". Many training institutions say that as long as you get the certificate, your job will be bright.
In this regard, Mr. Ji believes that the weight of customs declaration certificate should be viewed objectively. On the one hand, as far as he knows, almost no one in Shanghai has a customs declaration certificate and can't find a job. He said: "If someone can't find a job, they can contact the customs declaration association, and we can help them connect with the enterprise." On the other hand, Mr. Ji said frankly that the career prospects brought by the customs declaration certificate are not as bright as some training institutions say. After all, the market capacity is limited, especially with the advent of the era of electronic customs declaration. Technological upgrading will reduce the demand for manpower, and the requirements for personal skills are getting higher and higher.
As an employer, Mr. Tao Weiming of the Air Transport Department of Changfa International Freight Co., Ltd. takes the customs declaration form more lightly. He said that in recruitment, work experience is the most critical factor. For example, the air cargo declarant they recruited emphasizes experience, because the flight waits for no one, and it is difficult to make up for a mistake in one link. If you are a novice, you can only "follow others", and some work of examining documents often requires customs declarers who have accumulated three to five years of work.
Uneven income at work "golden rice bowl" is too heavy
There is a saying in the society that "customs broker is a golden rice bowl", but people in the industry also point out that this statement is a bit biased.
Mr. Tao said that the work of customs broker is very hard. Because the customs implements "5+2" customs clearance, it does not close every day, and the customs declarers must follow the market. There is no fixed rest day, and overtime is common. Besides, compared with white-collar workers, the working environment of customs declarers is not ideal. Customs clearance ports are often crowded with people, and customs clearance procedures are complicated. It is very important to adjust your stress tolerance and mentality for a long time.
Teacher Ji questioned from the perspective of salary. According to him, the salaries of customs declarers vary greatly. Generally speaking, it is normal for a single operator to earn about 1000 yuan a month, and a single operator earns three or four thousand yuan a month. The more experience, the higher the salary.
In addition, the income of self-care declarers is related to the benefits of enterprises. The benefits of foreign trade enterprises where customs declarers work are good, and the income of customs declarers is not low. Many high-paying claims are mostly circulated from these companies. Relatively speaking, it is more difficult to guarantee the salary of the agent customs declaration company. The competition between agencies is fierce, and the prices between them are also fierce, but the wages are not as good as those of self-service customs declarers.
Teacher Ji also admitted that the industry is indeed expanding rapidly under the background of difficult employment. Therefore, in the short term, the popularity of customs declaration will not fade.
