Fangchenggang, located at the western end of the northern shore of Beibu Gulf in southern Guangxi, is one of the 24 major ports along the coast of China.
The port was completed on March 22nd, 1968, the State Council was approved to open to the outside world in July, 983, the first phase of the project was completed in 1986, and it was put into full operation in 1987.
There are 35 berths in Fangchenggang, including 3/kloc-0 berths for production and 2/kloc-0 berths for deepwater berths above 10,000 tons. The 200,000-ton ore wharf has been completed and put into operation. The dock yard covers an area of 3 million square meters, with an annual actual handling capacity of more than 40 million tons, including a container handling capacity of 500,000 TEU.
Fangchenggang has a very broad development prospect. The planned coastline is 50.3 kilometers long, and more than 200 deep-water berths can be planned. Fangchenggang is currently building 500,000-200,000-ton berths 1 1. Upon completion, the port's handling capacity will reach 60 million tons, forming nine specialized logistics systems, including containers, imported iron ore, other non-ferrous minerals, sulfur, grain and liquid chemical products, exported phosphate fertilizer, non-metallic minerals and coal.
