The coastline of Jiangyin Port is 8.37 kilometers long and the depth can reach 1.5 kilometers. More than 30 berths of 300,000-300,000 tons can be built, and the annual throughput can reach 75 million tons. The water area in the port area is 9- 15km wide, and the deep water area above 10m is 1-3km wide, and the maximum natural water depth is 19m, which can meet the needs of berthing and turning around for large ships of over 200,000 tons. The land behind is wide, mostly shoals, salt fields, low hills and dry land; There are 40 square kilometers of flat dry land and nearly 100 square kilometers of shoal near the coast, which can be used to develop industrial zones.

From June 5438 to February 2002, Jiangyin Port 1 deepwater berth 30,000-ton wharf and 50,000-ton container wharf jointly invested by Singapore Port Authority, Provincial Port Group, Singapore Pacific Company and Fuqing Port Company were completed and put into use. In 2004, the cargo throughput of Fuqing Port reached 1.52 million tons, and the container throughput reached 7 1 10,000 TEUs. At present, Hong Kong, West Africa, the United States, Europe, the Mediterranean, Japan and other international routes and domestic branches have been opened in the port area, which can directly reach many countries and regions such as the west coast of the United States, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia and other major coastal port cities in China. The 50,000-ton container terminal and Yurong Port terminal with berths 2 # and 3 # have started construction, and the container terminals 4 #, 5#, 6# and 7 # and Tao Jian terminal will start construction one after another this year, and the coal terminal supporting the State Power Project will also start construction this year. At present, the four berths of 10- 13 are the only chemical general wharf approved by the Ministry of Communications in the province, and the chemical wharf 10# is under active preparation.
