Types of stock listing

Registered shares and bearer shares

Stocks are classified according to whether they are included in the register of shareholders. Divided into registered shares and bearer shares.

According to China's Company Law, the shares issued by a company to corporate sponsors are registered shares, all of which are in the names of shareholders, and their transfer is made by endorsement.

Bearer shares are shares issued by the company to the public, which can be bearer shares. The transfer of bearer shares shall take effect after the shareholders deliver them to the non-transferee.

Original shares and new shares

Stocks are divided into initial shares and new shares according to the issuing time.

Original shares refer to the shares issued when the company is established.

A new share is a stock issued when a company increases its capital.

The issuing conditions and prices of initial shares and new shares are different, but the rights and obligations of similar shareholders are the same.

A shares, B shares and H shares

According to different issuers and different listing areas, stocks are divided into A shares, B shares and H shares.

A-shares are stocks bought and sold by individuals or legal persons in China, which are denominated in RMB and subscribed and traded in RMB; B shares and H shares are exclusively for foreign investors and investors from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. They are denominated in RMB but subscribed and traded in foreign currencies (since 200 1, domestic residents are also allowed to buy and sell in legally obtained foreign currencies). B shares are listed in Shenzhen and Shanghai, and H shares are listed in Hong Kong.
