Guo is a molecular cell biologist and immunologist. Researcher and doctoral supervisor, Institute of Biochemistry and Cell Biology, Shanghai Institute of Life Sciences, China Academy of Sciences. 199 1-2000 Director, Shanghai Institute of Cell Biology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He used to be the vice chairman of chinese society for cell biology, the executive director of China Society of Biochemical and Molecular Biology, the executive director of China Society of Bioengineering, the chairman of Shanghai Society of Bioengineering, the director of China Society of Genetics, the vice chairman of Shanghai Biomedical Industry Association and the editorial board of Cell Research. At present, he is an expert of the 973 Program Advisory Group of the Ministry of Science and Technology, a national SFDA new drug evaluation expert, the editor-in-chief of China Journal of Cell Biology, and the chief scientist of Shanghai Guolian Stem Cell Technology Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Saiao Biotechnology Co., Ltd.
